[20695] This line is from L. David Roper, 1001 Auburn Dr. SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060-8123, Professor Emeritus of Physics at VPI & SU (roperld@vt.edu) in 1998. William and Emma also had Robert Lee, William Clarence, Grover Cleveland and Earl. Find A Grave Memorial 7316327 offers: "W J Blackwell, one of the best known citizens of the eastern part of the county, was found dead in bed at his home at Appleton November 21. He was 77 years old and was active for his age, having been in Russellville but a short time before his death, which was attributed to heart failure. He was a man of good education and was well informed, having served in the Arkansas legislature from Monroe County in 1897 and serving as county examiner in the same county. He came to Pope county from Monroe and it was the good fortune of the editor to know him intimately and be favored by visits from him when he came to Russellville. He was a Confederate veteran, a life long member of the Baptist church, and a man who stood in the high esteem of those who knew him."
