Burial in De Soto Cemetery. Dorothy was born January 26, 1918, in Omaha, NE, to parents Floyd Guy Harris and Lillian Blanche Henningsen Harris. She graduated from Argentine High School. She married Willard Byron Barclay Kirbee in 1936, and lived in Wyandotte County for many years. Dorothy was a homemaker most of her life; however, she did work at Hallmark Cards for a short time. They moved to De Soto, from Wyandotte County, in 1967. They enjoyed entertaining Senior Citizens with the Harmonicats and the Grandees. She was a member of the De Soto YW Club for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Robert A. Harris, Louis R. Harris, and Floyd G. Harris, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Willard Byron Barclay Kibbee; her children: Sandra F. (Kenneth) McDonald, Ph.D., of Hampton, VA; Gary W.B. Kibbee, (Catherine) Ph.D., of Los Alamitos, CA; Stephen E. Kibbee, D. Eng., (Kristin) of Katy, TX; grandchildren: L. [39775] Find A Grave Memorial 112602619 offers: "'John was a soldier in Philip's War. John was raised in Scarborough and in August 1668 he bought 50 acres adjoining his father's property. He was a selectman in Scarborough in 1669, 1673-74, 1684 and 1688. John's estate on 28 Nov. 1681 consisted of 50 acres of land, 12 acres of marsh, 1 cow, 2 mares and 1 sheep. The settlement at Black Point was still in poor condition when the Indians and French attacked Fort Loyal on Casco Neck in May 1690. After a seige of five days the fort surrendered and the inhabitants of Scarborough without waiting to be attacked themselves left their homes and moved to safer localitites. John and his family moved to Portsmouth, New Hampshire at this time and never returned to Scarsborough.
