[30749] The Perry County Times, 3 March 1938, p. 1: Newport, March 2. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tressler Scott, of Madison, Conn., both descendants of Col. John Tressler, founder of Tressler Orphans Home at Loysville, were killed on Tuesday when their auto was struck by a train at Tampa, Fla., according to an Associated Press dispatch. Mr. Scott, who was a retired concert singer and teacher, and Mrs. Scott were frequent visitors at the summer home of Mr. Scott's sister Mrs. Vera Scott Cushman, adjoining the Orphans' Home at Loysville. They last visited Loysville during October, last year. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tressler were cousins, and both were grandchildren of Col. and Mrs. John Tressler. Mr. Scott, who was 6 years old, was the son of the late Samuel and Anna Tressler Scott and was born in Ottawa, Ill. Mrs. Scott was 63 years old and was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Tressler Minnick, Newport. The Minnicks formerly resided in the house in Market street, Newport, now owned by Mrs. Bella Whitmer. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tressler Scott are survived by one son, Peter Lindsay Scott, a senior at Harvard University. The Rev. Dr. George T. Scott, New York City, secretary of the Presbyterian Board of Foreign Missions, is a brother of Arthur Scott, who is also survived by his sister, Mrs. Cushman, of Loysville. Mrs. Scott was the last member of the Minnick family. Funeral services for both Mr. and Mrs. Scott will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Myers' funeral home in Newport. The Rev. G-. R. Heim, superintendent of the Tressler Home, and the Rev. L. Stoy Spangler, pastor of Newport Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Newport cemetery.
