[24615] "Maine, Marriages, 1771-1907," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F4FL-8VS) reports that David H. Ordway m. Polly Horne 19 Aug 1810 in Penobscot, Hancock Co., ME. The LDS Church's unverified Pedigree Resource File (CD 107, PIN 37259) states David is of Hopkinton, NH but reports that he died there in 1792 - not possible if his marriage to Mary was in 1810. This File reports that David is son of Ebenezer Ordway (b. 20 Sept 1738 in Rumford, NH, d. ca. 1797) and Sarah Holmes (b. 25 Sept 1740 in Rowley, MA, m. 7 May 1760 in Hampstead, NH), and provides parents for each of these. The 1830 Penobscot, ME, Census shows David Ordway and a female, both 50-60 years of age, living with one male and one female, age 5-10, and 2 males, age 15-20. The childrens ages are consistent with Davids and Mary/Pollys Sep 1810, wedding date. Ancestry.com offers: "Ordway Name Meaning - English: from a late Old English personal name, Ordwig, composed of the elements ord 'point (especially of a spear or sword)' + wig 'war'."
