He was born in Kansas and resided most of his life in the Carlisle area. He was a retired businessman, formerly owning and operating the Village Food Market on Spring Road, was formerly employed by Cochran and Allen Hardware Store, and formerly attended the Old Carlisle Farmers Market, was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and played in the church orchestra, was a member of the men's Bible class and taught the Ladies Home Bible ciass. He was a member of Gideons International and was a member and past president of the Cumberland County Camp. Surviving are his wife, Anna Lutz Billman; four sons, Chester W. Billman, 114 Marbeth Ave., Edward L. Billman, 137 Marbeth Ave., John H. Billman, Big Spring Heights, Newville, and Robert L. Billman, Beach Creek; a daughter, Sharon L. Kunkel, RD1 Boiling Springs; a sister, Stella E. Kann, RD1 Newville; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

[61619] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]" 7 March 2026: "Augusta, Georgia - Stanley 'Gene' Eugene Reynolds died peacefully on February 25, 2026 at the Pruitt Richmond Nursing Home in Augusta, GA. Gene was born on April 2, 1936, in Strong, ME, the son of Stanley and Dorothy (Burdin) Reynolds. He graduated from Strong High School in 1954 and from Farmington State Teachers College in 1958. At FSTC Gene met and married Betsy Loomis of Solon, ME. Gene began his career as assistant plant manager at Edwards in Pittsfield, ME, in 1959 and later became plant manager at Anzac Electronics in Bangor, ME. He was active in the Pittsfield community, including time as a Jaycee and a founding member of People's Regional Credit Union and the First Congregational Church. In retirement Gene and Betsy enjoyed spending time at their home on Little Deer Isle and attending activities of their grandchildren in addition to volunteering at church and in the community, and bowling in a senior league. After Betsy's passing, Gene spent winters in Georgia and enjoyed volunteering at The Attic thrift shop and spending time with his son and family, especially great-grandson, August. He enjoyed teaching us all to play cribbage, and then working hard to beat us every game. Gene is predeceased by his parents; wife, Betsy; sister, Mary Ann; brothers-in-law, Walter Rice and Wayne Libby; and sister-in-law, Dodie Reynolds. He is survived by his three children, Karen McGrady (Frank) of Norway, ME, Kathy Rock (Dennis) of St. Albans, ME, and Bradenton, FL, and Steven (Loreen) of Harlem, GA; brothers, Jack (Nancy) of Hermon, ME, and Michael of Rumford, ME; sister-in-law, Helene Libby of Hartland, ME; grandchildren, Korrie (Aaron) Leff, Kristin (Kevin) Salaoutis, Emily Wagner (Adam Tracey), Ellen (Matt) Bombardier, Andrew (Alex) Reynolds, Zach (Kerin) Reynolds, Jenn Rock, Patrick (Larissa) McGrady, and Kevin (Kayla) McGrady; and great-grandchildren, Julian, Adrian, Sofia, Maia, Graham, Benjamin, Cadence, Maeve, Freya, August, Ellie, and Ashlen; and cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of life will be held in Strong, ME, in summer 2026."
