[48442] "The Akron Beacon Journal [Akron, Ohio], 14 June 1972," p. C6: "Stow - Services for Oliver J. Witwer, 86, of 4115 Kent Rd., were today at Redmon funeral home. Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery, Twinsburg. Mr. Witwer, retured in 1952 after 32 years as superintendent of maintenance with Akron Board of Education, died Monday after a long illness. Born in Jackson Township, Stark County, he lived in Stow 26 years. He was a 53-year member of Masons, Henry Perkins Lodge No. 611, F&AM, Tadmore Temple, Scottish Rite, Valley of Akron, Royal Arch Mason Washington Chapter No. 25, Royal and Select Masters Akron Council No. 80 and a member of High Street Christian Church. Mr. Witwer leaves his wife, Cora M.; sons, Frank, Cleveland, Larry, Stow; daughter Mrs. Lois Rook, Monroe Falls; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Ralph, Akron, Delbert, Cleveland; sister Mrs. Delia Greenhorn, Stow."
