[47177] "History of Fairfield and Perry Counties" compiled by A. A. Graham (1883), p. 280: "BRIGHT, JOHN, farmer, G.A.R., was born in Liberty township, Fairfield county, Ohio, December 8, 1832; the youngest son of John and Elizabeth Bright. John, Jr., after receiving an ordinary common school education spent his youth in farming pursuits, varied somewhat by assisting in the flour and saw mill, so long conducted by his father. Upon the death of the latter in 1853, he became owner of the home farm, a well improved and productive place, consisting of over two hundred acres, upon which is a handsome and commodious family residence, and farm buildings of a superior character. Mr. Bright is a successful farmer and prominent citizen. He is a member of the Evangelical Association Church, also of the Republican party. In 1864 he served some four months in the One Hundred and Sixtieth O. V. I. July 24, 1853, he was married to Mrs. Harriet Studer. To them were born two daughters: Sula, now the wife of John Carns of Greenfield township, and Laura, now Mrs. O. J. Weist, residing on a place adjoining her parent's home."

[57145] Find A Grave memorial 236047357 offers Lucille's obituary: "Jonesport - What a surprise for Kathleen and Ernest Palmer on April 10, 1931. Twin girls born at home! Both grew up, married, and lived in Jonesport, Maine - sharing a physical and spiritual bond that other twins know. One special twin, Lucille Marie Palmer Woodward, 90, passed peacefully on January 11, 2022, survived by her husband Wayne, 93, at 16 Meadow Lane where they raised a family of three girls and worked together in Woodward Oil Company. Lucille and Wayne celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary this past fall. In her early years, she loved to dance, toboggan, skate, visit Belfast for family weekends, and go to 'camp.' In her later years, she enjoyed visiting with friends and rides on 'barrens.' Lucille worked as a telephone operator after graduation from Jonesport High School in 1949. She proudly attended alumni festivities as long as she could. After her marriage, she worked in the family business from her home office, became a consummate, housekeeper, and cook, volunteered for community activities, and was an active part of the Fellowship Group at Sawyer Memorial Church. She and her sister mowed and chipped at Evergreen Cemetery in her later years. Lucille and Wayne hosted many family and friend get-togethers and led an active social life into their 80's, developing many friendships that provided stories they loved to tell. For years, she attended her childhood church- Jonesport Wesleyan and Wayne's church, Sawyer Memorial and loved all her church friends. She hosted a weekly Bible study in her home for several years and was a faithful attendee of the Tuesday Night Club that she and close girlfriends formed when their families were young and they needed an opportunity to escape household duties for a couple of hours. She was extremely happy when Down East Magazine featured the Palmer twins in an article. Family was number one. Her daughters remember her special recipes - hot biscuits, whoopee pies, date-filled cookies, chess pies, custards, soups, chowders, and tuna fish 'wiggle.' An accomplished seamstress and wallpaper hanger, Lucille had an uncanny knack for style and neatness, trying her best to impart those 'talents' to three girls, whose Dad was just as busy trying to raise them as 'tomboys.' She worried enough about everything from her personal family life to the country to the world, and always remained up on current events. No one could sway her opinion, once she had one. Her daughter Phyllis Merritt, daughter and son-in-law Colleen, and James Haskell, son-in-law Wilbur Allen, and twin sister, Rosalie Carver, survive Lucille. Her youngest daughter, Nancy Jane Allen, and her son in-law Shirley 'Pack' Merritt predeceased her, heartbreaking losses that greatly affected her. Was Lucille proud of her grandchildren and the special people they love? YES! Myra Berry and Michael Berry, Betsy and Matt Lash, Colon and Heather Haskell, Kate and Troy Deporter, Jonathan Allen and Jason Gutierrez, Joseph and Emily Haskell, and Clint and Jackie Haskell. They all could tell you a story or two of favorite times spent with 'Gram' and her phone 'talks' with them! As the great-grandchildren and the great-greats started to arrive, she was careful to write the information into the Family Bible, worrying about accuracy each time Nancy, Heather, Abby, Sophia, Delaney, Gabe, Evan, Zoey, Rowan, Phoebe, Max, Murphy, Wyatt, and Audrey then Alayna, Barbara, Mileah, and Preston. Many nieces and nephews from two huge family lines remember Auntie or Aunt Lucille and she was proud of them."
