Her obituary 5 Oct 2007 in the Bangor Daily News reports: "Emma attended Brewer High School and graduated from H.O.M.E. Learning Center in 1978. She had a bachelor's degree in fine arts from the University of Maine in Orono. She worked many years at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital and was, at the time of her death, working at the Leighton Gallery, Blue Hill. She was a passionate, prolific artist and very active in the Union of Maine Visual Artists and Deer Isle Art Association. She loved plants, animals and the outdoors, and transformed these elements into her creations. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by two daughters, Lisa L. Gray of Blue Hill and Sarah C. Gray of Santa Cruz, Calif.; her siblings, Robert W. Gray and wife, Sharon, of Verona Island and Charles N. Gray and dear friend of the family Brenda Hincks of Dedham; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many special friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Gray Shirland in 2004; a brother, Samuel D. Gray in 2006; and a nephew, Eric M. Brawn in 1982."

"The Selinsgrove Times-Tribune, 22 December 1932," p. 5: "Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for William Troutman, of Freeburg. who died Thursday from the effects of a paralytic stroke. Obsequies were conducted from the home of his son, Harvey N. Troutman, with further services in the Aline Evangelical Church, where interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Louis M. King, pastor of the Freeburg Reformed charge, and Rev. Joseph P. Sheesley, pastor of the Port Trevorton Evangelical charge, officiated. Mr. Troutman was aged 88 years. He was a retired farmer and for the past seven years resided with his son, Harvey N. Troutman, who conducts a general store in Freeburg. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Foster Straub, of Grubb's Church; and Mrs. Charles Wilt, of Hoffer; four sons, Harvey, Charles, Samuel and Harry, of Freeburg."
