[6279] Edward is son of Edgar and his first wife, Aethelflaed. He was crowned at Kingston in 975 and was assassinated at Corfe Castle, Devonshire, perhaps as a part of his step-mother's plot to secure the throne for her son, Aethelred. First buried at Wareham, his remains were later reburied at Shaftsbury. http://www.san.beck.org/AB17-FeudalEurope.html reports "Edgar died in 975; his elder son Edward had offended many with his violence, and his rule was soon challenged. Some, such as Mercia ealdorman Aelfhere, began destroying monasteries Edgar had founded. Edward was murdered while visiting his half-brother Aethelred in March 978." David Klees wrote in Find A Grave Memorial 158601354 in 2016:
My father had interviewed Keziah Maude Fahringer Rhodes (Find A Grave Memorial# 104504915); she said that her grandparents Harman Fahringer and wife Elizabeth Weaver were buried in this cemetery.
I believe that Harman Fahringer's father was Johann Theobald Fahringer, baptized February 10, 1746, in the Drulingen Lutheran church book, son of Johann Theobald Fahringer and wife Anna Barbara nee Fischer (cf. "Eighteenth Century Emigrants from the Northern Alsace to America" by Annette Kunselman Burgert (Camden, Maine: Picton Press, 1992, page 155); this family arrived at the port of Philiadelphia on the ship "Phoenix" from Rotterdam in 1750. Letters of Administration for his estate in Lehigh Twp., Northampton Co.., PA, are recorded at the Northampton County court house, Easton, PA, in 1778.
Keziah Rhodes told my father that Harman's father was shot and killed as a by-stander in Philadelphia during the Revolution. Aubyne Umholtz (who pulled together the Fahringer reunion after World War II) had the story that Harmon's father starved to death as a prisoner on a British man-of-war ship in Philadelphia harbor.

"Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 28 September 2020": "Frank Warren Higgins Sr., 73, of Mariaville passed away on Sept. 24, 2020, at his home, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Frank was born on Dec. 31, 1946, in Bangor, to the late Roscoe and Olive Higgins. He was raised in East Providence, R.I.
In 1966, he joined the United State Marine Corps, was assigned to the 3rd Marine Division and deployed to Vietnam. Frank was seriously wounded in 1967, requiring amputation of his legs. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and honorably retired from the Marine Corps in 1968. That same year, Frank married Nola Marie Robertson in Rhode Island. A few years after marrying, they moved to Ellsworth to raise their four children. Frank enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. Most days he would be found working in his shop. Franks artistic talent and welding skills forged his passion into Bent & Twisted Design. He took great pride in his work that was displayed by many family members, friends and businesses. Above all else, Frank loved spending time with his family usually by hosting a cookout or holiday meal. A stoic man, Frank never let his disability define who he was. He inspired his family and those around him to never give up and keep moving forward. Frank was always willing to help friends and family however he could. He was a hero in every sense of the word. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nola, children Frank Higgins Jr., Jamie Higgins, Rebecca Thomas and her husband, David, grandson Kolby Higgins, brother Roscoe Higgins, sisters Lorrie Higgins and Joann Gillett, nieces Shannon, Jenny and Sadie, nephews Keith and Jesse, good friends Mike Honey and the Franco family. He was predeceased by his son Daniel Joseph Higgins."
