Probably not the son of the John listed here - see below at end of these notes.
http://www.kistler-genealogy.com/NUHISTBD.htm offers:
"Papers of Rev. Schumacher show Abraham, son of John and Barbara "Kuestler", baptized 2/21/1762, nine weeks old --- indicating a birth date of 12/--/1761. Records of the Jerusalem Church (Albany township, Berks county, PA) show Abraham, age 17, confirmed in 1779.
"The History of Lehigh County (HLC), published in 1914, describes Abraham as the son of John and states that he moved to Perry county, PA, in 1793, married Marianna Loy, and had seven children. Other sources (papers of Rev. Charles E. Kistler, available at the Historical Society of Berks County) show that Abraham moved to Perry county before 1783; that he married Mary Loy, daughter of Michael Loy, and had six children: Jacob, Abraham, John, William, Samuel, and Susan (a seventh child, Elizabeth, is not mentioned).
"Abraham's will in Perry county is dated in 1829, but he apparently lived until 1833. The will names his (second) wife, Catherine (formerly, wife of Jacob Stambaugh) and Abraham's seven children: Jacob, Abraham, John, William, Samuel, and Elizabeth (wife of Fredrick Dumm); Susan died in 1821 and is not named.
"BCGS gives Abraham's date of death as 4/10/1833 and indicates the maiden name of his second wife as Ruprecht. The HMJP shows his second wife as "Jane" Ruprecht.
"Abraham and most of his children remained in Perry county. His son Jacob, however, is reported to have moved to Seneca county, NY, about 1820."
Geri Brennan's post in rootsweb.ancestry.com in 2003 offers:
"On the records of the Jerusalem church, known in the 18th century as the Allemangel church located near the line of Berks and Lehigh counties, there are recorded hundreds of baptisms of the Kistler children, while in the cemetery there are many graves with the name. Near the center of the oldest part of the cemetery lies a slate stone bearing the inscription, "I. G. K. 1767. This is supposed to be the stone that marked the burial place of the progenitor of the American Kistlers, who was legally known as Johannes, but was called Joer or George by Pastor Schmacher in his records, and Honjoerg or John George, by his neighbors. (Note there is a great family history on this family).br>"Johannes Kistler, was a native of the Palatinate in Germany. On Oct 5, 1737, he came to Phila. on the ship 'Townshead' from Amsterdam to Phila., and soon after to Falkners Swamp, or Goshenhoppen, in what is now Montgomery County. It is supposed he was accompanied by his wife Anna Dororthea, and his oldest children. In 1747 he took out a warrant for land and moved to Berks County (Albany township). The vicinty was named "Allemangel" or "All Want". Johannes Kistler was taxed in Albany in 1756, and was naturalized in 1761, on Sept 10 of which year he and his neighbor, Michael Brobst, appeared before the Supreme County in Phila., and there received the papers that made them citizens of PA. He was a Lutheran and served as an elder for a number of years, where his children were baptized and confirmed. Children; Philip, Jacob, Michael, Solomon, Daniel, Catharine, and Magdalena. Samuel Kistler Brobst, a teacher of James A. Garield, was a grandson of Philip, and so was Michael Kistler, the tanner who son Stephen was at one time the most extensive tanner in eastern PA.; John, remained on the homestead after his father's death. The name John runs through at least 5 generations, and the trade of blacksmith follows it.
"Children of John were; John William, born May 29, 1757, and Abraham, born Dec. 20, 1761, who moved to Perry county.
"A descendant of Rev. Dr. John Kistler, has been for many years been professor at the oldest Lutheran Theological Seminary in America, located at Hartwick, NY. George remained in Berks county and was referred to as George Kistler, Sr., he doubtless had a son George.
"The archives of PA., show that a George Kistler served in the Cont. army during the Rev.
"Philip born Oct. 19, 1745, died Aug. 28, 1809. He had 9 children; Jacob, John, Ferdinand, Philip, Jonathan, Barbara, Maria, Catharine and Elizabeth. Of these, Jacob was a Lt. in the War of 1812. Michael moved to Ohio and is the ancestor of the large Kistler settlements in IN. His family consisted of John, Michael, Joseph, Nathan, Monroe, Salome and Judith. Samuel was the youngest son of his father. Barbara, married 1st ___Brobst, 2nd Michael Mosser, of Lowhill. Dorothea married Michael Reinhart. Elizabeth married ____Keller, near Hamburg, PA.
"Samuel Kistler, son of John George was born Sept. 20, 1754, and died April 24, 1852. He married 1st to Elizabeth Ladich, she bore him 3 children, and he married 2nd to Catharine Brobst, children, Barbara who married Henry Sunday, Jacob J., John S., Michael, died in Ohio, Christian who is buried at Tripoli, Daniel, David both died in West Penn, Schulykill county, Jesse, died in Ohio, Levi is buried at Jacksonville, PA., Charles, is buried at Newton Falls, Ohio, Maria Elizabeth, married Jacob Snyder and died in Ohio, Catharine married George Weida, and died in Lowhill, Salome married Jacob Mosser, and died in Allentown, Magdalena who married Solomon Mosser and probably buried at Lynville.
"Perry County: Abraham Kistler, son of John, son of Johannes, moved to Cumberland County (now Perry County) before 1793. In 1814 he owned land near Elliottsburg, Perry County. His wife was Mary Loy, d/o Michael Loy. Their children were: Jacob, Abraham, John, William, Samuel, and Susan."
See "Abraham's Stone: The Sequel," Bruce Kistler ("The Airy View" (The Perry Historians, Newport, PA; Nov. 2022 - Vol.47, No. 6,, pp. 4-5) and https://bwkistler.wixsite.com/kistler-kin/1-hannes-allemaenge - lBruce Kistler emailed in 2024: "If you read the Kistler Confusion page on Kistler Kin, you will see that Abrahams father was Johannes (Hannes) Kistler who lived in Albany Township, Berks County and not John George Kistler who lived in Lynn Township, Lehigh County. Furthermore, although there is no absolute proof, the evidence strongly suggests that Johannes (Hannes) and John George were the sons of Johannes Kistler who arrived in Philadelphia in 1737. Also, if you read the European Origins page, you will see that our branch of the Kistler family probably originated in Bözen, Switzerland and not Aarberg, although once again there is no absolute proof.".
