Joan Garnet, daughter of Benedict Garnet of Haworth Castle, and that William is son of Randolph Dacre (b. ca. 1246 in Dacre, Cumberland, d. 3 May 1286 in Prescot, Lancashire) and Randolph's wife, Joan Lucy (b. ca. 1247, 'of Kellet, Lancashire"). http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~cousin/html/p429.htm reports (citing "A Genealogical History of the Dormant, Abeyant, Forfeited, and Extinct Peerages of the British Empire" (Baltimore, Maryland: Genealogical Publishing Co., 1996), pg. 152) "He obtained a charter for free warrent of all his demesne lands at Dacre circa 1303/4 in Cumberland, England. He obtained a charter for free warrent of all his demesne lands at Halton circa 1303/4 in Lancashire, England. He was in the expedition made 32nd Edward I into Scotland in 1303/4. He had license to encastellate his mansion at Dunwalloght circa 1308 in Cumberland, England. He was engaged in the wars in Scotland between 1308 and 1311. He died in 1318/19 at age 54 years."
