[44280] https://www.ancestry.com/genealogy/records/james-william-kable_211703912 (not verified) states James m. Mary Myers and had David M. Kable (b. 1865 in Knox Co., IN, d. 9 Feb 1934, m. Iva Trimmell and had three daughters). Find A Grave memorial 54168434 offers James' obituary: "J.W. Kable, who lives near Lay post office, in Sycamore township, was drowned yesterday morning while attempting to cross a slough near his home. In company with his son and a cousin he was looking after his stock, and himself and son swam in the slough on horse back but the cousin was afraid to follow them, as he could not swim. They then concluded to return, but Mr. Kable's horse for some reason, did not swim well on the return trip and in someway he was drowned. The slough we understand was filled with back water from Elk River. The body had not been recovered at last accounts. Mr. Kable was formerly in partnership in the livery business here with A.S. Janies, who was drowned some three years ago near Liberty lake. . . . The remains of Mr. J.W. Kable, of Sycamore township, whose death by drowning we mentioned yesterday, were recovered in about two an one-half hours after the accident took place. It was the intention to bury him today, but it was found that the body could not be kept so long, and it was buried in the cemetery here at about six o'clock last evening. Mr. Kable was a deacon in the Congregational church, organized some time since near Lay post office, and the funeral exercises were conducted by Rev. H. Vrooman."
