[45050] Florence's death certificate states she is wife of C. H. Swartz. "The Perry County Democrat [New Bloomfield, PA], 18 May 1938," p. 3: "Mrs. Ella Florence Swartz, wife of Clarence H. Swartz, of Saville, died in the Lewistown Hospital, Thursday afternoon, May 12th, from hypostatic pneumonia. She was a daughter of Conrad and Sarah Hartman Rice and was born at Saville, and at time of her death was aged 57 years, 6 months and 1 day. Surviving are her husband, Clarence H. Swartz, of Ickesburg, and the following children: Gladys, Mrs. George Moose, Andersonburg; Harold, Loysville; Leroy, Ickesburg; and Betty, Jane and John at home: also, three brothers, Elmer E., of Ickesburg; Edward, Port Royal; Harry, Wilkinsburg, and one sister, Mrs. Amanda Meminger, of Harrisburg. Mrs. Swartz was a life-long member of the Reformed church. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home. The Rev. Frank Bostian, Chambersburg, and the Rev. E. V. Strasbaugh, Spring Grove, former pastors at Ickesburg, and the Rev. Mr. Herbert, of Blain, present pastor, officiated. Pallbearers were George Sweger, George Barnes, Leroy Spotts, A. R. Wallett, F. G. Wallett and Cloyd Bender. Interment in Buffalo cemetery, Saville."
