[7390] "The Perry County Democrat, 16 January 1935," p. 3: "Mrs. Mary (Briner) Minich, wife of William Minich, of Bainbridge, Lancaster county, passed away on Thursday morning, January 10, at the Lancaster Hospital. She had undergone an operation for gallstones a few days before and was getting along as well as could be expected when the end came suddenly. Mrs. Minich was a daughter of John H. and Dianna (Hollenbaugh) Briner and was born in Jackson township. She was aged 50 years, 2 months and 24 days. When about 16 years of age, she united with the Lutheran church, in Blain. April 26, 1910, she married William Minich, who survives her with four sons, Scott, Dean, Guy and Carl, all at home. She is also survived by a twin sister, Mrs. Anna Miller, of Newville, and one brother, Harry Briner, living on the old homestead at Mt. Pleasant. Four children, two sons and two daughters, preceded her to the spirit world."

[30083] http://en.wikipedia.org reports "Theodora Komnena or Theodora Comnena (d. 2 January 1184) was a daughter of Andronikos Komnenos and his wife, Eirene (?Aineiadissa). Based on the writings of Niketas Choniates, it is likely Theodora was Andronikos' second daughter. The year of Theodora's birth is unknown. . . . little is known of Theodora's early life, except that her father died in 1142. She does not appear in the historical record again until the late 1140s, when she was betrothed to and married Henry II of Austria, whose first wife, Gertrude of Supplingenburg had died in 1143. The marriage had been arranged by her uncle, Manuel I and her eventual husband's half-brother, Conrad III of Germany, during the latter's stay in Constantinople. Theodora and Henry were married in Constantinople, and subsequently granted the Duchy of Austria by Conrad in 1156."

Vladimir was a semi-barbaric Viking tribal chief of great leadership abilities; conquered and then was first ruler of a unified Russia; was baptised at Kherson in the Crimea on The Feast of the Epiphany, 988 and "converted" his subjects to Christianity, and formed many alliances (many sealed with marriages of his children) with the other leaders of Europe {-see Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1956 Edition, 23:231}. He was Grand Duke of Kiev about 978 to his death. His father sent him to govern Novgorod in 970 despite his youth. He became Grand Duke, i.e. leader of his people, by killing his brother Yaropolk, uniting Novgorod and Kiev. After becoming a Christian, Vladimir built churches, promoted charity, established Orthodox canon law and married (988) Princess Anna, sister of Byzantine Emperor Basil II (reigned 976-1025) and daughter of Romanus II (Emperor 959-63) and his second wife Theophano ________. Princess Anna's ancestry (the Macedonian dynasty) is given in "The Oxford Dictionary of Byzantium" (NY: Oxford University Press, 1991), II:1262-63.
