Esther Pauline Groth, 95, died Jan. 11, 2003, of multiple organ system failure at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 15) at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Esther Groth was born Sept. 5, 1907, in Winterset to Charles Wilson and Minnie Belle (Paullin) McDonald. She was a graduate of Winterset High School and received her teaching certificate from Iowa Teachers College in Cedar Falls. On Sept. 7, 1938, she married Everett F. Groth in Wellman. A lifetime resident of Winterset, Esther had taught school early in her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset, United Methodist Women, Madison County Historical Society and Columbian Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Calvin McDonald. She is survived by her husband, Everett, of Winterset; a son, Paul E. Groth of Oakton, Va.; a daughter, Linda L. Beaman-Sublett of Winterset; a sister, Eathel Eyerly of Winterset; seven granchildren; three stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren."

She is survived by her loving husband; one son, Terrance E. Dunbar of Millinocket; one daughter, Marilyn B. King of Greenville; six grandchildren, Terri S. Brewster, Holly F. Humphrey, Byron E. Dunbar, Weldon C. King Jr., Torri'Anne E. Stone and Maria K. Avery; nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, Allyn and Clinton McEachern; three sisters, Phyllis Vickery, Mary McAffee and Joyce Brown; one aunt, Isabelle Ryder; many nieces, nephews and cousins, special extended family, Trina Mercier, Sherry Taylor and Dennis Vickery. She was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and George McEachern and one sister, Beth Botzko. A private family service will be held. Burial will follow the service at the family lot in Greenville cemetery."

http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caroline_von_Erbach-Fürstenau offers: "Caroline war eine Tochter des Grafen Philipp Karl von Erbach zu Fürstenau und Michelstadt, Herren zu Breuberg (1677-1736) und dessen erster Gemahlin Gräfin Charlotte Amalie von Kunowitz (1677-1722). Sie heiratete am 19. Juni 1726 auf Schloss Fürstenau Herzog Ernst Friedrich II. von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. Das Paar lebte zunächst in Königsberg wo auch der Erbprinz Ernst Friedrich Carl geboren wurde. 1730 ließ Ernst Friedrich seiner Gemahlin das Lustschloss Carolinenburg erbauen. 1744 erfolgte auch der Ausbau von dem für Caroline vorgesehenen Wittumssitz Schloss Eisfeld.
Nach dem Tod ihres Mannes 1745 führte sie die Regentschaft für ihren unmündigen ältesten Sohn. In einem Erlass von 1746 traf sie Maßnahmen gegen 'herumziehendes Zigeuner- und Bettlervolk' wobei auch die Todesstrafe zur Anwendung kam. Sie strukturierte die Strafprozessordnung um und Verbot den Verkauf von Lehen, Allodien und Gütern ohne landesherrliche Genehmigung. Im vom Herzogtum Sachsen-Meiningen angestrengten Prozess beim Hofgericht um das Amt Sonnefeld (1743-1752), ließ sie durch den Geheimen Hofrat Johann Sebastian Kobe von Koppenfels verhandeln, der den Prozessverlauf vorteilhaft gestalten konnte."
