Find A Grave memorial 64367828 offers Paul's obituary: "Seized with a cramp or with acute indigestion while swimming, Paul Doverspike, son of Mr. and Mr. D. H. Doverspike, of Punxs'y R. D. 4, was drowned in the Allegheny River at Aliquippa Saturday evening at 7 o'clock. His body was recovered 10 minutes later by workers of the Jones & Laughlin mill but all efforts at resuscitation were futile. The young man with his wife and another couple had entered the river for a swim Saturday evening and had been in the water but a short time when without a cry or sound Doverspike disappeared beneath the surface. He did not reappear and an alarm was sounded.
Within 10 minutes the body had been recovered and frantic efforts were being made to restore life, but to no avail. Physicians who examined body believed that he had suffered an attack of acute indigestion while swimming. The deceased, who was 25 of age, left Punxsutawney five years ago and a year later married Miss Marybelle Extrom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Extrom, of Big Run. He had been employed as yard conductor for the J. &. L. Company at Aliquippa. He was held in high regard by his employers and by hundreds of friends in this vicinity. He was a member of the M. E. Church. He leaves his widow, a daughter aged three years, his parents, three brothers and three sisters: Carl and Ralph of this city; Jay of Aliquippa; Mrs. Elmer Mohney of R. D. 4; Chloe and Esther at home. - Punxsutawney Spirit-July 1, 1929"
