[33392] Obituary from Shelby Times, Saturday, March 6, 1880: "Died - Elizabeth E. Shearer, was born in Germany on the 12th day of March, A.D. 1805, came to this country with her parents, John H. Schneck and his wife, Catharine L., about the year 1818, and lived with her parents in York County, Pennsylvania and was married to Peter Shearer, her surviving husband in the year 1830. In the year 1850, she, with her family emigrated to Ohio, and ever since resided in Richland County, and died February 28, 1880 aged 74 years, 11 months, and 16 days. She was the mother of nine children, 7 sons and 2 daughters; 6 of whom survived her; 3 of her sons having died, one in his infancy. She was a member of the Lutheran Church for many years, till about 7 years ago, she joined the United Brethren Church, to which she belonged at her death. She was a resident of Jackson Township, Richland County. Her remains were buried Monday, March 1st, at the London Church. Services by the Rev. Summers."
