[56001] Find A Grave offers Arthur's obituary: "Orono - Arthur A. Comstock, 84, died peacefully on January 17, 2018, at Dirigo Pines in Orono, Maine, with Betty by his side, where she has been for sixty-three years. He was born on June 12, 1934, to Arthur Comstock Sr. and Emily (Berube) Comstock. Arthur graduated from Old Town High School in June of 1951. He attended Husson College and graduated in four years with an honorary degree in business. He also graduated from Rutgers School of Banking. Arthur married Betty Lee Avery during his second year at Husson. They grew up together just three houses apart. Arthur was a very quiet person and Betty was vivacious and lively, which made for a great couple. Arthur received his letter to join the Army and trained at both Fort Dix in New Jersey and Fort Gordon in Georgia. Then, he was sent to Germany until his two years were up; Betty joined him there. Shortly upon arriving home, Arthur was offered a job as Bank Manager for Northeast Bank in East Millinocket, where he worked for eight years. He was then transferred to the main bank in Millinocket where he became President and was there for twenty years. After this, he was transferred to the main office in Bangor where he was President. He worked there for a few years and then retired. Shortly after this, he was asked to join Camden National Bank in Bangor where he agreed to serve in a part-time capacity and worked there until he was 76. Arthur became very involved in the community as a banker and was on many boards. Dear to his heart was Eastern Maine Medical Center, Acadia Hospital, Eastern Area Agency on Aging, where he was Vice President, and the Katahdin Area Council Boy Scouts of America, where he served as Treasurer. Arthur was predeceased by his mother, Emily, his dad, Arthur Sr., and his brother, Allen. He is survived by his wife, Betty, his son, Thomas and his wife, Sue, and two step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his adopted daughter, Cherie and two sisters-in-law, Adath and Nadia; ande several nieces and nephews."
[17186] Mary is daughter of Joseph Joy and Mary Prince. Mary and John Stodder had Mary (6 May 1700) and Tabitha (12 Sept 1704, d.s.p. 6 Nov 1777). Ancestry.com offers: "Joy Name Meaning - English: nickname for a person of a cheerful disposition, from Middle English, Old French joie, joye. In some cases it may derive from a personal name (normally borne by women) of this origin, which was in sporadic use during the Middle Ages."
