The unverified file in 2018 at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Owen-124 states John was b. 24 Dec 1622 in Wales and offers: "All definitive sources found (see Sources, below) indicate that John Owen's origins are unknown. This profile previously included Richard Owen and Johanna Pitt as his parents, but they have been removed, along with the birth location of Oswestry, Shropshire, England. At the present no further information about his parentage is known.
John Owen is first noted at Windsor, Connecticut in 1650 when he married Rebecca Wade, the daughter of Robert and Jemima Wade of Hartford. His birthplace is unknown, but it is believed that he was probably born in Wales. John and Rebecca had 11 children: Josiah, John, John, Nathaniel, Daniel, Joseph, Mary, Benjamin, Rebecca, Obadiah, and Isaac. John Owen died February 18, 1697/8 at the age of 76 and was buried in the Palisado Cemetery in Windsor. At his death it was said that he was 76 (suggesting a birth year of 1622), but town records say he was born December 25, 1624, so that in December 25, 1664 he was 40 years old. John Winthrop attended to John Owen in Windsor in 1666 and noted in his medical journal that John was about 40 years old. John Owen died 18 Feb 1698. An inventory valued at £29:01:00 was taken 5 April 1698 by Lt. Hayden and Benajah Holcomb. The Court Record (p. 22 5 April 1698) shows the inventory exhibited, contained only personal estate. It was given to the widow to be at her dispose, the children consenting."

[11391] William and Ruth also had Ruth (1652), William (1654-1701), Ephraim (1656-1741), Mary (1695-1670), Samuel (1662) Jireh (1665-1749), Temperance, Esther, Dinah (1670-1740) and Josiah. William was at Watertown, MA in 1634 and later at Sandwich, where he served as Deputy to the Plymouth General Court in 1673, 1674, 1677 and 1678. Ralph S. Swift posted 8 Aug 2002 in the Swift Family Genealogy Forum on genealogy com: "You will notice from various records that William of Sandwich supposedly died in Mar 1643 and was buried some time later 1 Jan 1644, both these dates tie in with the death dates for our two Williams given above if they are anything like accurate, so the question is, do we in fact have two Williams, or one who married twice, and whose Will was it, Joan's or Joanes, Does anyone out there have the documentary evidence to say for sure?? One marriage produced Hannah, Esther and William, the accepted line for the subsequent Swifts in America. The other marriage produced (seemingly) William, Susannah, James, Elizabeth and Edward. Do I have you confused yet??? The next generation, William (2) married Ruth (Allen, Dillingham, Ellingham Snow, Tobey ???) My money is on Ruth Tobey, Why? In a town meeting for Sandwich dated May 29 1655 donations were being made for the construction of a town meeting place and among the donors is a note 'Will Swift, 15 shillings of Tho.Tobey, senior' in other words he was paying on behalf of Thomas Tobey senior so the families would seem to have been very closely affiliated and what more natural than that he should have been paying his father in laws dues.By the by, there was another Tho Tobey present(probably Junior)who donated 5 shillings !" "Ancestors of the Bingham Family of Utah," by Vance M. Holland and Lester S. Scoville (Salt Lake City, 1963), p. 169, shows the children of William Swift (son of William Swift and Joane Sission (or Sessions) who m. Ruth Dillingham.
