[23884] The Wenrich history at http://www.wenrich.net/history/other/Pwen.html states: "John was a farmer and blacksmith. He lived in Tulpehocken Twp. where he was taxed on land, livestock and two stills. He was also taxed on land in Heidelberg Twp. (This was before Marion Twp. was erected.) John was recorded in both townships in the 1790 census. He took an Oath of Allegiance in 1777. A John Wenrich served as a private in the Revolutionary War but we have no way of knowing if it was this John. He became a deacon of the Little Tulpehocken Church in 1774. Burial records say there were ten children. John left a will which mentioned all the children listed below except Barbara. The Blue book of Schuylkill County lists the husbands of Barbara and Christine and says George Zerbe was a son of John Zerbe. In his will, John made provision for an un-named second wife and an un-named infant."
