He had been employed by B&A Railroad for 44 years, retiring in 1965. He is survived by his wife, Lovina (Archer) Dyer of Presque Isle, 6 sons, Bernard, Elwood, Alden, Dennis and Robert, all of Presque Isle and Donald of Pompona, FLA., 6 daughters, Bridie Doak, Madeline Haley and Sheila Bonville, all of Presque Isle, Christine Moore of Castle Rock, CO., Marian Brayall of Central Falls, RI. and Myrtle Palullo of Fitchburg, MA., 1 brother, Arnold of Bangor, 3 sisters, Verla Case and Mavis Brayson, both of Presque Isle and Iris Briggs of Florida, 50 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. [38730] Find A Grave Memorial # 26932038 offers: "John Wisehaupt was born in Germany, and when quite a young man came to this country with his parents. He attended subscription schools in Juniata County, PA and could speak both English and German. He was reared to farming and spent his entire life in Spruce Hill Township, where he owned 106 acres of land, on which he began in the woods, cleared the land, erected a dwelling house, barn and other structures, planted an orchard and engaged in general farming. His death occurred in the Township, and he is buried at Church Hill. He was married in Milford Township to Susanna Groninger, of the same township. The children of this marriage are: Valentine, died a young man; Leonard, was a Lutheran minister and died in Missouri; Sarah A., wife of William Stewart; John; Jacob, a farmer of Spruce Hill Township; Caroline, deceased, wife of William Robinson; Jesse, died young. In his politics, Mr. Wisehaupt was a Democrat, and served in the offices of supervisor, school director, overseer of the poor, tax collector and accessor. He was one of the first members of the Lutheran Church, and aided in building the first house of worship, which was constructed of logs, and he took a prominent part in all church matters."
