Margaret de Clare was heiress to her nephew Thomas de Clare, son of Richard de Clare, 2nd son of Thomas and Juliane. She was therefore sister to Richard, 2nd son and to Thomas, 1st son." http://www.medievalgenealogy.org.uk/cp/badlesmere.shtml reports: "He [Bartholomew of Badlesmere, later Lord Badlesmere (d.1322)] m., before 30 June 1308, Margaret, widow of Gilbert de Umfreville ... aunt and coh. of Thomas de Clare, Steward of the Forest of Essex, da. of Thomas de C., by Julian, (not Amy), da. of Sir Maurice Fitz Maurice, Lord Justice of Ireland. The identification of Margaret's father, Thomas de Clare, as a younger son of Richard de Clare, Earl of Gloucester and Hertford [d. 1262], was removed in volume 14 [of the Complete Peerage]. But this identification does appear to be correct." Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_de_Clare,_Baroness_Badlesmere.

[11514] John is only known from the Ashland County History where he is listed as a son of Michael and Catharine Heichel. "When he was but sixteen years of age his father died, leaving him to battle his own course through the world. He engaged with Mr. Austin on a farm for one year, when he returned to the old homsestead, where he has since resided." (p. 360). His marriage and children are from this account, which reports that he is a Democrat and a member of The Christian Church (Jeromesville, OH?). The listing of his grave in FindAGrave.com in 2012 states he is a "Civil War Veteran" - he served in Co. B of the 16th Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
