John Hills (ktbricks@netzero.net) of Portland, OR shared via email 26 June 2000:
"Found the missing Sarah Hills who married Reuben Whitcom. I show our Sarah, b. 1797 married your Reuben. Sarah was the twin sister of Samuel Hills who married Eunice and Mary Whitcomb. Gave you parents info earlier.
"Also found on Elmira Hills and the Rev. Lewis Whitcomb: This Whitcomb was b. 1810, Windsor, VY;. he was a pastor of the South Granville Congregational Church. I show their children as Hulda (b. before September 2, 1821) and Lucy (b. before December 7, 1823). These are baptism dates. I have Elmira d. 1872, Watertown, New York. [Cf. DAR lingeage Volume 65 page 121.]
"Info on Sarah Hills as wife of Reuben Whitcomb is in the 1811 probate record in Washington County, New York. Probate file lists the 9 heirs of Nathan Hills and their spouses. Vol. 3, page 21, 1811, filed Oct 29, 1811, probated December 29, 1811 - Washington County Probate Files. Testators index available from www.sampubco.com. The file lists Nathan's childrens' birth dates and spouses. The will itself is gone but the will file remains. I believe it also lists their address at that time."

[2577] In 951 Otto's empire was the mightiest in Christendom. Adelaide, widow of Lothar of Italy, asked him for assistance. He moved across the Alps (947), married her (since his first wife, Anglo-Saxon Princess Editha had died in 946), and called himself King of Italy. Left a widow again in 973 she was badly treated by her son and his wife. In old age she was regent of the empire. Before her death she retired to a convent. Her feast day is Dec. 16.
