[58455] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," Linda Shepard Eaton passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, after a long battle with dementia. Born on June 10, 1943, in Stoneham, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of LeRoy G. and Marion (Torrey) Shepard. Linda moved to Stonington, Maine, at a young age with her parents. Growing up around her cousins and grandparents she attended Stonington schools, where she enjoyed plays, the saxophone, cheerleading, and working at the Dairy Freeze. She attended Washington State Teacher's College in Machias, now known as the University of Maine at Machias. She spent time in Rockland and Warren visiting her parents and younger sister, Wendy. In 1963 Linda married Eugene Eaton and started their family. She was a teacher and tutor before joining her husband in the family business, Gene's Sales & Service, for which she was the co-owner and secretary/bookkeeper until she retired. She also taught Sunday school at the Stonington Methodist Church, where she was a member. Linda enjoyed gardening, beloved German Shepherds, boating, being at camp, and observing wildlife. Linda had many talents including cooking, sewing, ceramics, painting, crafts and on occasion, would use a chainsaw, drive a dump truck and go snowmobiling with family. She loved being around her family and friends, frequently enjoying 'a cup of tea.' She was a member of the Eastern Star, where she held the office of secretary for many years. Linda is survived by her three children, Dean Eaton and his wife, Daphne, of Stonington, Barbara and her husband, Robert Violette, of Orland, and Darren Eaton and his wife, Rhonda, of Stonington. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Shane, Audra, Spencer, Tyler, Alec, Allyson; and two great grandchildren, Zaylee and Tatum. She is also survived by brother-in-law, James Kinney; and special niece, Bridgette McNally. Linda was predeceased by her husband; parents; sister, Wendy Kinney; and a special granddaughter."

In 2007 http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/SICILY.htm offers: "Manfred von Hohenstaufen, son of Emperor Friedrich II King of Germany [Federigo I King of Sicily] & his mistress Bianca Lancia (Venosa 1232-killed in battle Benevento 26 Feb 1266). The 'Thomas Tusci Gesta Imperatorum et Pontificum' names '[illegitimus filius Frederici] Manfredus' as son of 'sorore marchionis Lancee', specifying that he and his sister were legitimated as a result of their father's declaration at the deathbed of their mother. He was bequeathed the kingdom of Sicily and 10,000 uncias under his father's testament[393]. Matthew of Paris calls him 'Memfredum filium Fretherici naturalem sed legitimatum'. At the time of his first marriage, his father constituted him Lord of territory from Pavia to Genoa. He succeeded as Principe di Tarento in 1250 on the death of his father. After Pope Innocent IV named Edward of England, son of Henry III King of England, as King of Sicily, Manfred forced the Papacy to recognise Konradin's rights and his own appointment as regent in Sicily. He deposed his nephew in 1258, and was crowned Manfredo King of Sicily 10 Aug 1258 at Palermo, although this was not recognised by the Papacy. Pope Urban IV offered the kingdom of Sicily to Charles de France Comte d'Anjou who began preparations to invade and claim his rights. He defeated and killed King Manfred at Benevento.
" - m firstly (proxy Mar 1247, contract 21 Apr 1247, [Dec 1248/Jan 1249]) as her second husband, Beatrix de Savoie, widow of Manfredo III Marchese di Saluzzo, daughter of Amedee IV Comte de Savoie & his first wife Marguerite de Bourgogne ([1223]-10 May before 1259). The proxy of marriage between 'Manfredo Lanza di Lui [Imperator Federico secundo] figlio' and 'la Contessa di Saluzzo figlia del Conte Amedeo di Savoia' is dated Mar 1247. The contract of marriage between 'Manfredo Lanza figlio dell'Imperatore Federico' and 'la Contessa Beatrice di Saluzzo figlia del Conte Amedeo di Savoia' is dated 21 Apr 1247. This marriage was arranged in recognition of the alliance between her father and Emperor Friedrich II. She is mentioned in the 19 Sep 1252 will of her father as his daughter 'Béatrice wife of Marchese Manfredo di Saluzzo', despite her first husband's death and her second marriage before that date.
" - m secondly (betrothed before Feb 1258, Trani 2 Jun 1259) Helena Dukaina Angelina, daughter of Mikhael II Komnenos Dukas Angelos Lord of Epirus & his wife Theodora Dukaina Petraliphaina Basilissa ([1242]-in prison Nocera before 18 Jul 1271). Her marriage was arranged as part of her father's peace treaty with Manfred King of Sicily in 1258, her dowry of Corfu, Durazzo, Valona and Berat being the territories which King Manfred had already conquered. After her husband's defeat, she fled with her children to Trani planning to travel to Greece, but was captured. She was imprisoned in the castle of Nocera in Campania and deprived of her children, although she was permitted to have servants and her own furniture and personal items. She died in prison."
