Born in Brooklin, Maine July 8, 1908, he was the son of John Fred and Lizzie (Leach) Staples. Mr. Staples, a member of the South Levant Baptist Church, was a carpenter and a dairy farmer, retiring about two years ago. He lived for the past two years on the Horseback Road Carmel and prior to that he had lived in West Newbury, Vt. He is survived by his wife, Leona Howard Staples; one son, Dean H. Staples of Lowell, Mass.; one granddaughter, Colleen Staples of Lowell; one brother, John F. Staples of Blue Hill; two sisters, Aury Winniefred Hutchins of Bucksport, Mrs Omar Bernice Friend of West Brooklin, and several nieces and nephews."
