[19350] Arthur m. (1) Marie, daughter of the viscount of Limoges, and (2) Yolande de Dreux, Countess of Montfort (he was Count in right of her title). See genealogical chart in "Medieval France: An Encyclopedia", p. 149. Arthur is son of John II who ruled Brittany 1286-1305, and his wife Beatrix, daughter of King Henry III of England. John II is son of John I (r. 1237-1286), son of Pierre Maucler de Dreux (a Capetian prince; r. 1212-1237) who married married Alix, hieress of Brittany and sister of Arthur Plantagenet. http://en.wikipedia.org offers in 2007: "After he inherited the ducal throne, he gave his brother John their father's English earldom of Richmond. As duke, Arthur was independent of the French crown. He divided his duchy into eight "battles": Leon, Kernev, Landreger, Penteur, Gwened, Naoned, Roazhon, and Sant Malou. In 1309, he convoked the first estates general (the ancestor of the Breton parliament) in Brittany. It was the first time in French history that the third estate was represented. Arthur died at Château de L'Isle and was interred in a marble tomb of the cordeliers of Vannes. The tomb was vandalised during the French Revolution, but repaired and is on display today." When she took office, she confirmed the tenantcies of local nobles who held the fiefs of the chapter, using the titulature, Johann Charlotta verwitwete Prinzessin in Preußen, postulierte Äbtissin des Stifts Herford. She was daughter of Johann Georg II von Anhalt-Dessau (1627-60-93) and Henriette Katherine of Nassau-Oranje, and widow of Margrave Philipp Wilhelm von Brandenburg-Schwedt (1669-1688-1711). Mother of 6 children, and in 1764 her granddaughter Friederike Charlotte Leopoldine Luise became the last reigning abbess of the territory."
