[1862] Siegbert III was banished to an Irish monastery by Pepin of Landen. He ends the French Merovingian House; reigned 639-54 (or per "The Lives of the Kings and Queens of France" by Duc de Castries, 638-56). His wife was Immachilde. His brother Clovis was King of Neustria and Burgundy. At this point the era of administration of the Mayors of the Palace begins. See account in 2003 at http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/06238a.htm on the Internet. Cf. http://mapage.noos.fr/anosteo/Merovingiens01.html. http://www.robertsewell.ca/merovech.html states "St. Sigebert adopted the following child: Childebert, King of Austrasia who was a son of Grimoald and a grandson of Pépin the Old of Landen who was Mayor of the Palace of Austrasia in 623 and a counsellor of Dagobert (I), King of Austrasia."
