Born Jan. 24, 1922, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of James Earl and Katherine (Weingartner) Heichel. She retired from Barnes Pump Manufacturing in Mansfield. Katherine was a member of the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church. She was a kind and caring friend who was the most loving CROSE and loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Katherine like to spend time with her family, crochet, embroider, garden, complete word search puzzles and was good at completing crossword puzzles. In the past, she enjoyed golfing and bowling. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, David (Betty) Crose of Bishop, Calif., Charles (Doris) Crose of El Dorado Hills, Calif., Cliff (Jenny) Crose of Mansfield and James A. (Linda) Crose of Bellville; a stepdaughter, Gloria Amato of Shelby; a sister, Mrs. Mary Davis of Mansfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David (Marie) Heichel and Kenneth (Nancy) Heichel, all of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Stanley Ostajeski; four brothers, James Clayton, Charles Richard, Allan Eugene and Earl Edward Heichel and one sister, Mrs. Shirley Cline."

[50762] Find A Grave memorial 133228872 offers: "Son of John Patten Leighton (1772-1838) and Sarah Mahar (1776-1877). He married his double cousin Mary Leighton on Jan. 20, 1834 in Lubec. They had children: Mary Jane 1835, Hatevil James Jr. 1837, Martha Ann 1839, Eunice Mary 1842 , John F. 1844, Mark L. 1847, Jemima Bell 1850, and Thomas O. 1853. In 1870 he was a farmer age 65 of Pembroke, Mary was 57 and his sons Mark 22 and Thomas 17 were working on the farm. Also in the household were grandchildren Martha J and Laura E. Greenlaw, children of James Greenlaw and Mary Jane Leighton, and Almeda Dingle, 4 daughter of William Dingle and Eunice Leighton. By 1880 Mary was deceased and Thomas was age 76 and residing with him was his son Thomas age 27, a sailor, and Mark age 35 also a sailor, daughter Martha Leighton age 41 and her husband Josiah Crowell age 54, a sailor, and grandchildren Laura Greenlaw, Almeda Dingle, Philinda Leighton age 4 and Clarence L. Carter age 6 child of JKemima Bell Leighton and husband Emulus Carter. He was buried Clarkside with his wife Mary who died in 1877."
