[36949] The unverified Hall Registry (on-line in 2011) offers: "John married Christen Harding on 13 May 1566 in Credition, Devon, England." Ancestry.com offers: "Hall Name Meaning - English, Scottish, Irish, German, and Scandinavian: from Middle English hall (Old English heall), Middle High German halle, Old Norse holl all meaning 'hall' (a spacious residence), hence a topographic name for someone who lived in or near a hall or an occupational name for a servant employed at a hall. In some cases it may be a habitational name from places named with this word, which in some parts of Germany and Austria in the Middle Ages also denoted a salt mine. The English name has been established in Ireland since the Middle Ages, and, according to MacLysaght, has become numerous in Ulster since the 17th century."

[51303] Milddred is presumed to be daughter of Ivyl and Josephine since Josephine died in 1918, but further research is needed! As Mildred E. Hutchings (age 9) she is listed as niece in the household of Nathaniel Ames ("general farmer") in the 1920 federal census of Orland, Hancock Co., ME - he died in 1928 which may be why Mildred was a "domestic" in 1930. A Mildred E. Hutchins (age 19) is servant in the household of Maria Ginn in the 12 April 1930 federal census of Bucksport, Hancock Co., ME.
[5155] Robert was probably born at Ormesby and died there between 4 June 1535 (will) and Sept., 1535 (proven). Children: John, Thomas, Margaret, Isabel and Robert. His wife was Margaret ______ who died at Ormesby between 1549 and 1553. Ref.: NEHGR 7/90, p.256; 10/87, p. 316. See "Revised Ancestry for William Moulton of Hampton, New Hampshire, Including Some Revisions of the Early Ancestry of His New England Cousins," Myrtle Stevens Hyde (NEHGR 7/2009, Vol. 164, No. 651), pp. 165-173. Margaret's family name may be Wattes; she was living in 1549 and is listed as a widow on the 1545 subsidy roll, a 1546 assessment roll, and a 1549 manorial survey (Public Records Office, E179-151/339, 348; SC12-24/5). In addition to Thomas, she and Robert had John, Margaret, Isabel and probably Agnes (listed as an inhabitant of Ormsby in 1587/8). "A History of the Moulton Family," W. O. Moulton and children of Stuart IA, 1905, reports that the earliest of this surname was Thomas Multon or DeMulton whom the Domesday Book of 1086 states was given the estate 'Galeshore'. Later Thomas Multon, called in French DeVaux, of Norman and Saxon descent, a resident of Gillesland in Cumberland, attended Richard I in the Crusades and is prominent in Sir Walter Scott's 'The Talisman.' The Magna Charta of 1215 contains the signature of another Thomas.

[44889] "The Perry County Democrat, 28 August 1935," p. 3: "James R. Wilson, one of Perry county's most prominent citizens, died at his home in Landisburg early Tuursday morning, August 22, after having been in declining health for several months, death resulting from hardening of the arteries. The announcement of his death was received with sincere sorrow by all who knew him. James Ramsay Wilson was a son of John A. and Ellen (Black) Wilson and was born in Landisburg July 2, 1866. He attended the public schools of Landisburg and when a young man learned the art of printing in the old Perry Freeman office, in Bloomfield, but never followed that profession. Returning to Landisburg after his apprenticeship, he engaged in the live stock business, in which he was successful. He was one of the promoters of the Bank of Landisburg and from 1905 until July of last year was its capable cashier, when on the death of the president of the bank, Joseph C. Waggoner, he was elected president. It was largely through his able management that the bank, with branch at Blain, is today one of the leading financial institutions of the county. He held many borough offices, being a school director of Lan disburg for many years. Mr. Wilson was a churchman of the old school, a member and trustee of the Bloomfield Presbyterian church, a most regular attendant of divine services, and one of the most liberal contributors to the church, not only to his own church but to other churches and to every religious organization that applied to him for financial assistance. He was also a member of Mt. Dempsey lodge, I. O. O. F., of Landisburg, and treasurer of the lodge for some years. In political faith Mr. Wilson was a staunch Democrat, one of the influential men of his party, and his advice and council in political affairs will be greatly missed. He was chairman of the Democratic County Committee of Perry county for several terms and in the Presidential campaign of 1916 held down the Republican majority in the county to 227 for Hughes and 357 for Focht. Mr. Wilson and Miss May Loy, daughter of Capt. Andrew Loy and Ann Eliza Linn Loy, of near Center Church, were married December 26, 1888, at the bride's home, the Rev. William Burchfield officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dr. James Ramsay, of New York, after whom Mr. Wilson was named. Mrs. Wilson and one son, James, and one granddaughter, Miss Mary Wilson, of Pittsburgh, survive. A daughter, Mary Elizabeth, died in infancy. Three brothers and one sister of Mr. Wilson died when young children."
