His grandfather John Stover gave him 30 acres in York Co., ME 15 Feb 1721, calling him "his little grandson."{-York Deeds,10:170} John bought from his father a tract of land in the township of York adjoining Wells and fronting the ocean.{-York Deeds,18:273} Mary was his fourth child. A John Perkins is on the list of the York Train Band in 1757 according to "History of York, Maine," Charles Edward Banks (Baltimore: Regional Publishing Co., 1967), Vol. II, p. 214. Cf.
