In 1960, his occupation is listed as president of bangor and aroostook railroad in Houlton, Aroostook, Maine, United States. He died on 30 December 1993, in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine, United States, at the age of 87, and was buried in Houlton, Aroostook, Maine, United States." Find A Grave memorial 25448435 offers: "Willard Jerome (Jerry) Strout grew up in Milo, and went on to college at the University of Maine where he studied to get a B.S. in Civil Engineering. After graduating he worked for one year with the State Highway Commission of Massachusetts. Following that he went to work in the Engineering Dept. of the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad. That was the beginning of a distinguished career. By the year 1940 he was appointed Chief Engineer of the railroad. This was followed by promotions to General Manager (1953), Executive Vice President (1965), President (1962), and finally chairman of the Board (1971). He retired in 1971. He moved to Houlton in 1931 when he first went to work for the railroad. He moved to Bangor in 1952."
