She was survived by a brother, Paul, and sisters Mabel (Shank) and Evelyn (Kropf), as well as her children and their spouses and children, and her 18 great-grandchildren. The January 1920 federal census in Wayne Twp., Wayne Co., OH lists her in the household of an uncle.
Akron Beacon Journal (OH) - 4 February 1996: Zelda Mary (Hilty) Briner, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 1, 1996. She lived most of her life in Brimfield, was a member of The Chapel on Fir Hill and retired from Akron General Hospital in 1974. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dayton H., she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Jane; daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Harold Sandusky and Twyla and John Roman; grandchildren, Connie, Gail, Dixie, Julie, Wallace, Melissa, Lisa and Sharyl; and 18 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Paul Hilty, and sisters, Mabel Shank and Evelyn Kropf. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and many friends for her generosity and many acts of kindness. Those who knew her remember a 'feisty little lady' who spoke up for that which she believed was right. She was an inspiration as she shared her faith in God with those whose lives she touched. . . . Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery, Uniontown.

The deceased was the youngest son of the late John and Margaret Mikesell Peddicord end had been employed by the Saltsburg borough for the past four years. He was a member of the Saltsburg Methodist Church, Saltsburg I. O. O. F Lodge, No. 646, and a director of the Edgewopd Cemetery Association of Saltsburg. The deceased had made his home in Saltsburg for the past thirty-eight years. He is survived by liis wife, Neva (Dobson) Peddicord, one son, Walter E at home and two; daughters, Mrs. Edith Lambing of Philadelphia and Mrs. Hazel Johnston of Alliance, Ohio. One brother, John Peddicord, El Centro, California, and two sisters, Misses Emma and Melissa Peddicord of South Sixth Street, Indiana, also survive."

She was an avid crocheter and shared her fine afghans with many people. Bernice is survived by three children, Corrine and her. husband Gordon Carter of Surry, Geraldine Carter of East Orland and Donald Carter and his wife, Wanda of Surry; a foster daughter, Lorraine A. and her husband, Virgil of Ellsworth; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grand-children; a brother, Lorado Carter and his wife, Ellen of Surry; a sister, Lura Candage and her husband, Douglas of Surry; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
