[30866] Torrey's "New England Marriages to 1700" (Vol. 1, p. 584) states Rebecca m. (1) in 1666 in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., MA John Frost (who d. in 1672) and (2) George Jacobs. The unverified Young Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2015 states "Rebecca Andrews was born on April 18, 1646, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the child of Thomas and Anna. She married John Frost and they had five children together. She then married George Jacobs, Jr. and they had six children together. She died in 1717 in Danvers, Massachusetts, at the age of 71." - and states she is daughter of "Thomas Andrews . . . born in 1614 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He had one daughter with Anna Smith on April 18, 1646. He died in 1648 in Salem, Massachusetts, at the age of 34." - but other sources offer a different mother for Rebecca.

[43592] "The Decatur Daily Review [Decatur, Illinois], 15 July 1935," p. 20: "Death of Noah Derr, 76, Cerro Gordo, who died at 2 p. m. Sunday in St. Mary's hospital, was caused by uremia resulting from shock and injuries received in an automobile accident on route 10 west of Cerro Gordo July 5. The Inquest was conducted by Coroner J. J. Hopkins in the Monson funeral home at 10 a. m. Monday. Lloyd Jones, 26, Bement, driver of the car with which Mr. Derr's auto collided, testified that Mr. Derr swerved to the left in front of him as if to enter a drive. He said the Derr car hit his automobile at the front on the left side, throwing Derr from his machine. Mr. Robert Derr, grandson of Noah Derr, testified that he was driving a tractor in a nearby field and saw the crash when Mr. Derr swerved in front of the Jones car. Mr. Derr received a broken arm, some broken ribs and chest injuries. Uremia developed from the shock and injuries, a physician's statement said. Funeral Tuesday. Mr. Derr was born in Hocking county, O., Sept. 9, 1859. He came to Illinois 55 years ago and settled near Cerro Gordo, where he was engaged in farming. He and Miss Elizabeth Berry were married in 1883. They moved into Cerro Gordo in 1912. He leaves six children: Charles E. Derr, supervisor of Long Creek, township; W. A. Derr, trust officer of the National Bank of Decatur; Henry Derr, Springfield, O.; A. W. Derr and Mrs. Violet Hendrix, Cerro Gordo, and Mrs. Goldie Body, Port Huron, Mich. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the First Church of the Brethren, Cerro Gordo. Burial will be in the Cerro Gordo cemetery." Noah's death record states he is son of Thomas J. Derr & Mary Friesner. See "Illinois Death and Stillbirths, 1916-1947." Database. FamilySearch. http://FamilySearch.org : accessed 2017. Public Board of Health Archives, Springfield. The 1910 federal census in Long Creek, Macon Co., IL lists his children with Elizabeth (all b. in IL): Charles, age 25; Henry, 23; walter, 15; Goldie, 13.

[21716] He is the Frederick Steese mentioned by http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bbunce77/Bolender_Misc.html: "Frederick's father, Jacob Steese, was a Revolutionary soldier." In 2004 http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~chrystiem/meyerbook.html idedntified Frederick as brother of Mary Steese, daughter of Jacob Steese, reporting: "Mary Steese was said to have been a very stout yet strong woman; she had charge while still single; held the position of "grist-mill operator" before marrying Henry Meyer. Even during this era it was an occupation that was of rude and inconvenient construction for even a man at any age since this type of work demanded considerable strength. Though she was a built with strong features she died in August of 1801 from a Malignant fever of which she contracted while she and her husband Henry were visiting at her brother, 'Frederick Steese' in Synder Co., PA. Frederick Steese had a low grade form of this fever as it is stated that Frederick contracted malignant fever while with his father on a trip to Philadelphia buying goods. Tradtion says it was 'Yellow Fever'. Grandmother (as the writer put is regarding Mary Steese) was the first victim in the Valley to die from the dreaded disease but many early settlers did soon follow."
