He was a member of the Owls and was affiliated with the St. John's Episcopal church of Carlisle. Besides the brother, Willis, with whom he resided, he is survived by several other brothers who reside in the west." June 27, 1901 Bernard was appointed postmaster at Sterrett's Gap, Perry Co., PA (until March 21, 1902). They r. Carlisle, PA in 1921 per sister Caroline's obituary.
