He was born at Penobscot Feb. 20, 1911, the son of Melvin A. and Belva (Sellers) Wardwell. Mr. Wardwell worked 30 years for St. Regis Paper Co. in Bucksport. He was a 52-year member of the Rising Star Lodge No. 177 of Penobscot where he served as master in 1948. He was a member of the Penobscot Chapter No. 107 OES. He is survived by two sons, Dana Wardwell, Sr. of Searsport and John Wardwell of South China; two daughters, Ruth Harris of Madison, Conn. and Lois Donaghy of Frankfort; nine grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Ellen (Gross) Wardwell, in 1967."

The unverified Leduc Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2013 states Thomas m. in 1639 in Dover, NH Margaret Leathers Crawford (1615-1681) and that Thomas is son of Allan Willey (b. 1590 in Somerset Co., England, d. 1658 in Boston, MA) and spouse Alice _____(1593-1664).
