Wayne was an avid Celtics and Green Bay Packers fan. His greatest joy was his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Wayne was a member of the American Legion of Blue Hill. [9113] "News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 18 August 1971," p. 44: "Vernon Frank Tucker, 57, of Plymouth, was dead on arrival at Shelby Memorial Hospital last night after his car ran off State Route 39 and struck a mailbox, two miles south of Shelby. Richland County Coroner Dr. Robert W. Wolford ruled death was due to a heart attack. Highway patrolmen said the accident occurred at 7:15 p.m. Mr. Tucker was born in Shelby, Jan. 6, 1914 and had lived in Plymouth for 15 years. He was employed at the Business Forms Division of GAF Corp. and was a member of the Ehret Parsel Post No. 447, American Legion. Surviving are one stister, Mrs. Ila Donnenwirth of Plymouth; two nephews, and one niece. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dye Home of J. H. Finefrock & Sons in Shelby by the Rev. M. P. Paetznick, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Plymouth. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion."

He married Sarah Elizabeth Dyer on September 19, 1856, in Medina, Ohio. They had two children during their marriage. He died in 1890 in Parma, Michigan, at the age of 58, and was buried in Sandstone, Michigan."
