Leslie is survived by his wife, Thelma Ann Keezer; three children, Kevin and his wife, Janet, Kathy and her husband, Jerry, Michael and his wife, Ann; two sisters, Florence Brooks, and Jeanette Robertson; grandchildren, Amanda and her husband, Justin with their two girls; five other grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Leslie was predeceased by his son, Walter; five brothers; and five sisters."

"Kennebec Journal [Augusta, Maine]," 14 November 1991, p. 10: "Augusta - Floyd Merrick, 74 Gage Street, died Nov. 12, 1991 at Kennebec Valley Medical Center, Augusta Division. A 1935 graduate of Cony High School, Mr. Merrick had worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps, was a Teamster and driver for Holmes & Swift, and Eastern Distributors, Augusta, and later for Bath Iron Works and the Navy in New London, Conn. Mr. Merrick was also an expediter at the Chance-Vought aircraft plant, Bridgeport, Conn. and was a self-employed painting contractor for the last 20 years. A son, Floyd Merrick, died in 1980. He is survived by three sons, David Merrick of Norwood, Mass., Fred Merrick of Randolph, Mass., and Paul Merrick of Augusta; two brothers, Benjamin Merrick and Frederick Merrick, both of Augusta; two sisters, Corinne I. Hamilton of Guilford, Conn. and Dorothy Merrick of Portland; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins."
