[42974] An unverified file in Ancestry.com in 2017 offers: "When Mary Beebe was born on September 26, 1699, in Wethersfield, Connecticut, her father, Samuel, was 27, and her mother, Hannah, was 26. She married Enoch 'Eben' Buck on December 28, 1707, in her hometown. They had 14 children in 27 years. She died on December 4, 1769, in New Milford, Connecticut, at the age of 70, and was buried in Canaan, New York."
[3226] She is daughter of the Earl of March. She and Thomas I also had John (dsp 1366-67), Peter III (dsp by 1395), Elizabeth (dsp by 1395) and Joan (dsp by 1395). See NEHGR 150:323.

[14395] "Whitcomb - Past and Present," Leroy A. Gearl, Jr. (privately published, 1998) states about Levi: "Made several voyages as a sailor, but the larger part of his life was spent as a farmer on the old homestead in Yarmouth, MA . . . . The home of the Whitcombs was the famous and historic 'Old Garrison House' of Indian War days, built in 1728, and known as the oldest house in Yarmouth. It was beautiful in its situation on the bank of Royall's River with its long avenue of massive elms leading up to the homestead, and was known far and wide for the warm-hearted hospitality of Levi Whitcomb, and for the lovely character and sweet nature of his wife Sarah. Stranger as well as friend was ever sure of a welcome. Levi Whitcomb was member of the First Congregational Church in Yarmouth, of which he was elected deacon, Feb. 6, 1856. He was deeply interested in the activities of this church and in the religious life of the community. His devout Christian homelife was been touchingly mentioned by the Rev. Dr. E. K. Alden in his 'Memoirs,' in which he speaks of the 'Prayer Closet,' substantially made of plain boards, known as the little chamber to which the devout parents retired for devotion. Levi Whitcomb died respected and beloved by all who knew him, and was buried in the old churchyard by the side of Sarah, his wife."
