[41107] The Nebraska State Journal, 16 April 1910, p. 6: Tecumseh, Neb., April 15.- Mrs. Sarah Brillhart, wife of Dr. Guy Brillhart of Schuyler, formerly of Tecumseh, died at the family home in Schuyler shortly after midnight Wednesday. Mrs. Brillhart was the victim of a stomach ailment. In November an operation was performed at an Omaha hospital and it was thought she was recovering but about three weeks ago she became worse. She was aged twenty-seven years. Mrs. Brillhart's maiden name was Sarah Eaton, the family home formerly being in the neighborhood of Graf, this county. She married to Dr. Brillhart about nine years ago. Besides the husband the deceased is survived by two children, aged six and four years.

She was born May 4, 1928, on Swans Island, the daughter of Lester and Rosan (Martin) Staples. Eva grew up on Swans Island and attended the Atlantic School. After coming down with an illness her senior year, she had to quit school. She received her GED when she was in her late 50s. On March 23, 1946, she married Burton Wheaton. He passed away March 7, 2005. Eva worked hard as a homemaker, raising her family on Swans Island. She was a member of the Advent Christian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She also belonged to the WH&FM Society. Eva enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by sons, James Wheaton and wife, Suzette and Stephen Wheaton and wife, Marlene, all of Swans Island; grandchildren, Betsy Wheaton, Benjamin Wheaton and wife, Amy, Patrick and Heather Wheaton; great-grandchildren, Malia Rose Wheaton and Kate Mackenzie Wheaton; two sisters, Janet Gilley and husband, Ed and Betty Ward; several nieces and nephews. Eva was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Burton; infant daughter, Betsy Lynn; and grandson, James Wheaton and wife, Stacy."
