Another source gives his dates as Chief Justice as: 24 May 1361- 28 Oct 1365 Sir Henry was granted a charter from the King to establish Boughton Fair, A Vigil for St John the Baptist. I was held June 24,25,26. This fair was second only to the London Fair in its time. The Boughton Fair survived five and one-half centuries. 1340/1: He received from Thomas de Boketon and his wife Joanna the manors of Brampton and Boketon. 1353: Lord Chief Justice of England under Edward III. 1363-4: Speaker of the House of Lords Greene's Norton: Sir Henry "re entailed" so that his second son could inherit them. A special license was given by the King so he could do so. Thomas, the eldest, received Boughton, and Henry, the second son received Greene's Norton. ". . . Joshua Barnes, in his 'History of Edward III,' p. 667., says that Skipwyth [Sir William Skipwyth] and Sir Henry Green, the Chief Justice of the King's Bench, were in 1365 arrested and imprisoned on account of the enormities which the King understood they had committed against law and justice . . ." Sir John Southworth, born 1478 of Samlesbury, Lancashire, England. He was the son of Sir Christopher de Southworth and Isabel Dutton. Sir John Southworth died in the year between 1517 and 1519 (Magna Charta, Crocker-Ashley, 2007; Melton/Sharp, Millenium File). He married Helene Langton. She was born about 1480 of Newton, Lancashire, England. No death dates given, but Helene, at least, could not have died before birth of son Thomas in 1497. Sir John de Southworth, Knight, Lord of Salmesbury, Sheriff of Lancaster, Knighted 1503/4 (Flower, 26; Melton/Sharp; Magna Charta, Crocker-Ashley, 2007). Sir John Southworth, son and heir of Sir Christopher, married Helen Langton, daughter of Sir Richard Langton. The descent of Helen Langton is in part the same as that of Margaret Hoghton, reaching to 495 King Cerdic, King of Wessex; given in some detail in a later part of this book (Webber, 412, 426-433).

Preston . . . wealthy woman with as many as 40 messuages and almost 1,000 acres the varied locations, 6 saltpits and 8 furnaces, plus 1 watermill. All of the possessions named, EXCEPTING those in Legh by Barterton, 5 saltpits in Northwich, messuages, etc. in Preston and Onston, should revert and remain to Anne (late wife of Thomas Molyneux, Knt); Elizabeth (wife of Thomas Scriben); Margaret (late wife of Ralph Vernon); John Southworth and Richard Cholmondeley, esq., as next heirs of Sir Thomas Dutton, Knt., to wit, and Anne, Elizabeth, and Margaret, three of the daughters of heirs of said Sir Thomas; John Southworth, son of Isabella, fourth daughter and heir of said Sir Thomas; and Richard Cholmondeley, son and heir of Alianora, fifth daughter of said Sir Thomas. And said Anne, Elisabeth, Margaret, and John Southworth and Richard Cholmondeley are next heirs of aforesaid Anne in this inquisition, and the remainder of possessions of said Anne descend to Laurence Dutton, esq., kinsman and heir male of said Sir Thomas, sometime husband of Anne, to wit, son of Roger Dutton, brother and heir male of said Sir Thomas Dutton.
