[12094] Jeanne is daughter and heir of Raoul de Fougères. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeanne_de_Fougères.
See "The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England 1620-1633, Vol. 2," Robert Charles Anderson (Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, 1995), pp. 783-786. Thomas probably arrived in the fleet with Gov. Winthrop from Yorkshire, England in 1630. {-see "Goldthwaite Genealogy," by Charlotte Goldthwaite (Hartford, Conn.: 1899).} - His 1st wife was Elizabeth __________ - she died before 1671 - and he married (2) "Widow" Leach (no children by her), who survived him. The LDS Church's unverified IGI file (Compact Disc #66 Pin #737721) states he was born in the West Riding of Yorkshire. See "The History of Salem, Massachusetts," Sidney Perley (Salem, MA), Vol. 1, p. 356, and "Pioneers of Massachusetts - 1620-1650," Charles Henry Pope (Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2013), p. 190.
-----------------------------------------
In 2019 https://www.geni.com/people/Thomas-Goldthwaite offers: "Thomas Goldthwaite, ancestor of all of this name in America, was born in England about 1610. The original home is supposed to be what is now Gowthwaite manor, three miles from Pateley Bridge, Yorkshire, West Riding. He probably came with Governor Winthrop's fleet to America. His first appearance in the Boston records appeared June 14, 1631. Thomas Goldthwaite settled in Roxbury where his name appears as "Thomas Gouldthwaight'l in Rev. John EIiot's list of his church members, Eliot having begun his pastorate there in 1632. Thomas was made a freeman in Massachusetts, May 14, 1634. In 1636 he appears in Salem where, as an inhabitant he was granted ten acres of land. His first house lot has been located by some of the best antiquarian authority, as on the southwest corner of Essex and Flint Streets in Salem. In 1636 he married his first wife. Her death occurred some time before 1671 and he then married Rachel Leach, of Salem. He was called 'Constable Gouldthwaight' at a meeting of the selectmen, December 14, 1659. Thomas died in March, 1683, at about the age of seventy-three, his wife Rachel surviving him. He left three children, Samuel, Mehitable, and Elizabeth.

[38299] See Ancestral File MM46-T8D - not verified - which offers: "Mile's father bought property in York located at the mouth of the Cape Neddick River on 17 Jan 1753. I think that the boys Miles & and his brother Hez Jr (both shipwrights) built the house there. I can prove Miles was living in York on 22 Jan 1756. In 1761 Miles purchased 2/3rds of this house and 1/3rd of the houselot from his father. The Sheriff seized the father's share in 1767 and Miles sold his share 10 April 1769 and is in Stockton Springs before a March 1770 muster roll for Fort Pownal which included an expense for a new flag staff made by Miles Staples (cost: 9s 4d)."
