"Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 28 September 2020": "Frank Warren Higgins Sr., 73, of Mariaville passed away on Sept. 24, 2020, at his home, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Frank was born on Dec. 31, 1946, in Bangor, to the late Roscoe and Olive Higgins. He was raised in East Providence, R.I.
In 1966, he joined the United State Marine Corps, was assigned to the 3rd Marine Division and deployed to Vietnam. Frank was seriously wounded in 1967, requiring amputation of his legs. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and honorably retired from the Marine Corps in 1968. That same year, Frank married Nola Marie Robertson in Rhode Island. A few years after marrying, they moved to Ellsworth to raise their four children. Frank enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. Most days he would be found working in his shop. Franks artistic talent and welding skills forged his passion into Bent & Twisted Design. He took great pride in his work that was displayed by many family members, friends and businesses. Above all else, Frank loved spending time with his family usually by hosting a cookout or holiday meal. A stoic man, Frank never let his disability define who he was. He inspired his family and those around him to never give up and keep moving forward. Frank was always willing to help friends and family however he could. He was a hero in every sense of the word. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nola, children Frank Higgins Jr., Jamie Higgins, Rebecca Thomas and her husband, David, grandson Kolby Higgins, brother Roscoe Higgins, sisters Lorrie Higgins and Joann Gillett, nieces Shannon, Jenny and Sadie, nephews Keith and Jesse, good friends Mike Honey and the Franco family. He was predeceased by his son Daniel Joseph Higgins."

He established the Waldegrave Chantry inside The Church of Saint Mary The Virgin in Bures Saint Mary, Suffolk, England. Some say he was 103 years old when he died but that has yet to be proven. The Chantry is at the east end of the south aisle inside the church. He specified he was to buried under the arch between the High Altar and the Chapel of Jesus. All traces of the tomb have disappeared, and its fate is unknown. The Waldegrave Chantry and the Chapel of Jesus were one and the same." and reports that William is son of Thomas Waldegrave (1420-1500) and Elizabeth Fray (1441-1479).
From there he served the Kittanning Lutheran Charge, Manorville, Armstrong County, and then to the McAlisterville Charge in Juniata County in 1885. In 1892, he came to the Marysville Lutheran Charge in Perry County and later that year, he was elected president of the Central Pennsylvania Evangelical Lutheran Synod. In 1893, he resigned at Marysville and moved down the road and became pastor of the Blain Charge. From there he served in Centre County and Jefferson County before accepting a call to a mission church, Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Finally, he served the Upper Bermudian Lutheran Charge in Adams County. He retired in 1908 and he and Catharine moved to Cleveland, Ohio. At the time of his death, they resided with his son, Dr. Charles A. Leisher."

Berger, 77, of 233 Garber St., d. unexpectedly Saturday morning, Dec. 7, 1991, at her home. b. Sept. 19, 1914, in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Val E. and Sally Kyle Vanderau. Mrs. Berger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a life member of Business and Professional Women's Club, serving as its president twice, and was an active volunteer for the March of Dimes, American Red Cross nad Franklin co. Heritage Inc. She was a 1932 graduate of Chambersburg High School and a 1936 graduate of Wilford Beauty Academy of Philadelphia. After graduation, she operated a beauty shop in Nelson Hall until 1949, when she moved the shop to her home. She continued its operation until recent years. Surviving are her husband, Karl E. Berger; a daughter, Val Jean (Mrs. S. David) Beltz of 1125 Stanley Ave.; a son, Karl W. of Fairfax, Va.; four grandchildren; a sister and a brother, Margaret Vanderau and Val W. Vanderau, both of Chambersburg. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard H. Englund will officiate.
