She was born Aug. 28, 1907, in Ashland County to Charles M. and Laura Roseborough Helbert. Mrs. Barr was a member of the Ridgeway First Church of God and was a Sunday school teacher for 40 years. She also was a 4-H adviser and a member of Milton Neighbors. She is survived by a daughter, Thelma J. Keener of Ashland; a son, Melvin A. 'Art' Barr of Nankin; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi Reiter of Mansfield and Gloria June Helbert of Ashland; and a brother, Raymond Helbert of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin A. Barr, on May 10, 1995; twin sons; a sister; and two brothers. Calling hours will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville, where funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. Lloyd W. Harlan and the Rev. Paul J. Gnagy. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery."

[49144] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 2 May 1962," p. 20: "Augusta - Clyde Roscoe Snowman, 50, chief warrant officer of the Maine National Guard, died at his home early Monday morning. He was born August 6, 1911 at Woodland, son of George and Albina (Hersey) Snowman. A veteran of World War II, he was employed as superintendent of the combined field maintenance shops of the 142nd Ordinance Company, Maine National Guard. He was a member and deacon of the Penney Memorial United Baptist Church. He enlisted in the National Guard in Battery B, 152nd Field Artillery Battalion, in Caribou in 1932, and was with the battery when it was inducted into the federal service in February, 1941. He was discharged in October 1945. He re-enlisted in the National Guard in 1948 and had more than 30 yearsÂ’ service at the time of his death. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Virginia (Webb) Snowman; a son, Charles David, both of Augusta; his mother; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Steeves, both of Caribou; a brother, Milton, of Coudersport, Pa.; several nieces and nephews."
