He was engaged in his legal work as usual during the forenoon and intended going to Harrisburg on business in the afternoon. He kept his car at the New Bloomfield Auto Company's garage and shortly after one o'clock went to the garage for the car. The propriator of the garage, Mr. Harry F. Neiswenter, noticed that he looked ill and advised him to sit down, but he said he was alright and got into his car ready to start when he suddenly collapsed and died instantly. Dr. R.R. Stoner was called and said death was the result of a heart attack. The announcement of his sudden death wwas a great shock to all. John Cameron Motter was a son of John P. and Sue E. (Albright) Motter and was born in Buffalo Township, November 3, 1870. In his youth he attended the public schools and the Bloomfield Academy, graduating from the latter in June, 1887, and then entered Princeton University and graduated in the class of 1891. On June 15, 1891, he began the study of law in the office of W. A. Sponsler, Esq., and was admitted to the bar in June, 1893, and continued in active practice up to the day of his death. Mr. Motter was well known all over the county. In 1890 he was appointed census enumerator for this district. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and of Adams Lodge, #319, F. & A.M.; Newport Royal Arch Chapter, Harrisburg Consistory and Zembo Shrine. September 4, 1894, he and Miss Harriet B. Eberly, daughter of John E. and Catharine (Sanderson) Eberly, were married. Mrs. Motter died some years ago. Three daughters survive; Harriet, (Mrs. Duke P. Clouser), Bloomfield; Sue, (Mrs. Fredrick Wigfield), Camp Hill; and Sara, (Mrs. Robert Weston) Milford Conn. The funeral was held at the Motter home, with the Rev. Donald L.
