On June 24, 1896 he married Bertha Baumgartner of Dumont. They made their home near Dumont, where William farmed, did corn shelling and threshing for many years throughout Butler County. He and Bertha had four sons and one daughter. Daughter Edith died in 1905 and twin sons, Merville and Orville died that same year."

It is assumed he was about 20 years old then. 1638 Peter was employed in traffic of furs and later in lucrative business. He and Thomas Brookes, alias Mr. Basil Parker, a London haderdasher, bought land of John Wilcox on the Asbenbedick River. 1640 Resident of Great Works, York. He was associated with Basil Parker, a London haberdasher, in the property at Great Works. Parker, alias Thomas Brookes, was an agent for the Shrewsbury Merchants, who owned land in NH and had connections in Bristol, Gloucestershire. 1643 He was one of the first settlers of York, ME. 1650 he acquired a lot north of Cape Neddick River ,York, which became the Weare's homestead for years. This land probably was of the land grant granted by Mr. Godfrey of 100 acres. . . . 1685 Peter went to London as executor of his brothers,Thomas's, will. 25 Jan 1691/2 killed by Indians in York. 18 Apr 1692 probate York, York - This was actually an estate inventory.
