As a son of Budic II's first marriage, King Hoel the Great was nephew to the famous High-King Arthur of Britain. Tradition says he spent much of his youth at the King's Court and, although he returned to Brittany when his father was recalled, he was soon asked back to help his uncle overcome the Saxon scourge. Hoel supposedly landed at Southampton and immediately moved north with a considerable army to assist King Arthur at the Battle of Dubglas, the Siege of Caer-Ebrauc (York) and the Battle of Celidon Coit, before being besieged himself at Caer-Brithon (Dumbarton Rock). Hoel's greatest hour, however, was at the triumphant Battle of Mount Badon. Later he took part in Arthur's continental campaigns, conquering Gaul and enabling Arthur to establish his government in Paris! Hoel then returned to his own Kingdom, where King Tristram of Lyonesse was supposed to have helped him to victory during a Breton Civil War. Hoel probably ruled jointly in Cornouaille with his ageing father. They, apparently, both died in the same year (545) and were succeeded by Hoel's eldest son, Tewdwr Mawr. Literary writers have transformed Hoel into a Knight of the Round Table."

"My mother's name was Nancy Jones before she married and her mother's name was Lydia Whitton and her father's name was John Jones. he was a Quaker from Wales but settled in New Jersey at an early day. After his family grew up he moved to Pennsylvania where his daughter Nancy was married to William Jewell, My grandfather Jewell's name was John. He died in New Jersey and was a member of the Church of England. He was a farmer but a shoemaker and carpenter for himself. His wife was from Holland. Her first name was Catherine and her last name was Bennett before she married. John Jewell (my grandfather) had a brother Hopewell and his wife's name was Patience. Hopewell and Patience Jewell and family moved to some place on Lake Ontario called Cussawanger. They took with them also a niece named Anna Jewell who afterward married Nathaniel Howard.this moving took place before the War of 1812. Anne Howard died when her girls were young. Katie was about thirteen or fourteen years old when she was brought to New Lisbon where Uncle Isaac Jewell lived. They kept Annie, the younger sister until she was a young woman when her father came and took her away. Katie earned her own lving by her labor, and while very young married Mr Fishbourne. She died in Wayne Co OH. She was reported exceedingly beautiful as was also her mother Anne Jewell Howard.
"Grandmother Lydia Jones had two sisters: Huldah and Polly Davenport.
"My father William Jewell was born in Sussex Co NJ, My mother Nancy Jones Jewell was born in NJ. They married in Fayette Co PA in Washington Bottom. they lived there until Nov 1814, when we moved to Wayne Co OH in a Pennsylvania Wagon. We llived there until my sister Hannah was one day old when fatehr died. Mother remained a widow."

[9233] "The Decatur Daily Review [Decatur, Illinois], 14 July 1938," p. 16: "Mrs. Sarah V. Weaver, 83, of 350 East Center street , died at 5:45 a. m. today in her home. She had been in failing health for several months, and death was due to complications. Born in Mechanicsburg. Pa., Feb. 21, 1855, she moved with her parents. Henry and Elizabeth Sheibly, to Mendota in 1869. and to Hickory Point township, near Forsyth, in 1870. She was married there to Charles Weaver Nov. 7. 1872. Mr. and Mrs. Weaver moved into Decatur 31 years ago. Mr. Weaver, a prominent farmer, died here March 25, 1926. Mrs. Weaver was a member of the First Church of God. She leaves the following children: Roy Weaver, rural route 1; Mrs. Pearl Hockaday, rural route 2; and Clifford Weaver, Decatur, an employe of the Citizens National bank. A son, Arthur, died in 1931. There is one sister, Mrs. Minnie Bassler, Decatur. Mrs. Weaver also leaves nieces, Mrs. Frank Wallace and Mrs. Alma Westfall, both of Decatur, also a nephew, Otis Bassler, Columbus, Ohio. There are 16 granacnildren and 20 great grandchildren."
