Luke proudly wore #80 as a member of the Golden Bucks football team. He fondly recalled a specific game where Bucksport played the Brewer Witches, under the Friday night lights, on the artificial turf at MMA in the pouring rain. Luke was a key cog in the Bucksport win! Luke's lifelong dream was to become a Police Officer. He attended the University of Maine Augusta, a proud graduate of the class of 1998. Luke attended the 92nd MCBPS academy in 2000. In 2001 he moved on to work at the Sabattus PD as the Elementary Dare Officer. This position was one that not only suited Luke's skill set and passion but his true calling. Luke loved working with kids. He was often called a big kid, himself. Luke made every young person feel important, valued, and most of all, safe. Everything Luke did was from the heart. He truly cared for all he served. He married Lauren (Bosse) Gross on October 14, 2006, in Bucksport. They were about to celebrate 15 happy years of marriage. In these 15 years, they had 2 children, Ryan and Alissa. With all of Luke's great accomplishments, being a father was his proudest. Luke loved spending time with his family and friends, always up for a good time and a laugh. He would crack jokes, keeping everyone laughing, especially with his wit and one-liners. You know you were loved by him if he picked on you. One of Luke's favorite places and activities was spending time with family at camp on Tunk Lake. He loved afternoon wiffleball games in the camp doorway, an evening booze cruise on the pontoon, a game of cribbage, and listening to country music by the bonfire. Above all, he loved being with his children and wife. Luke was kind, selfless, brave, and all his family and friends felt his protection and love. He is forever loved and will be missed by so many."
