"The Perry County Democrat [Bloomfield, Pennsylvania]," 2 March 1904, p. 3: "A telegram was received Monday noon by Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Briner, of this place, announcing the death their daughter, Mrs. Rev. A. J. Rudisill, which occurred at her home in Mt. Carmel, Pa., on Monday morning. The dreadful news was a terrible shock to Mr. and Mrs. Briner, as well as to the entire community, for no one knew that Mrs. Rudisill was ill. No longer ago than last Saturday Mrs. Briner had a letter from her daughter in which she said she was perfectly well and had never enjoyed better health than this winter. The announcement of her death was like clap of thunder from a clear sky, and it almost prostrated her parents, who have the warmest sympathy of all, as has also the bereaved husband. . . "
Findagrave.com offers: "Dora May Briner Rudisill was born in or near New Bloomfield, Perry County, Pennsylvania. Her parents were Daniel and Sarah Elizabeth (Parsons) Briner. On May 1, 1900 she married Rev. A. J. Rudisill in New Bloomfield. They had one child, Donald Everett Rudisill (b. 2/9/1901). From the Lutheran Observer, 3/11/1904: Mt Carmel. - Mrs. Rudisill, wife of Rev. A. J. Rudisill, died February 29th, after an illness of only a few hours. She leaves, beside her husband, a little son of about three years. The funeral services held in the church of which he is pastor on Wednesday following, and were well attended. Rev. J. W. Shannon, president of the North Branch Conference preached the sermon. The remains were taken to New Bloomfield, the home of her parents for interment. Mrs. Rudisill possessed many noble qualities of heart and mind that greatly endeared her to all, especially the membership of the church of which her husband is pastor. The large congregation, the many tears shed, all attested the deep love and esteem in which she was held by the people. She filled the position of wife, mother and pastor's wife nobly and well. "Servant of God well done." The Perry County Democrat 3/9/1904: 'She died of heart disease, which superinduced a blood clot on the brain. Up until about four hours before her death she was in perfect health. Her sudden demise was a terrible shock to everybody who knew her, for she was a most lovely, amiable young woman. Among those in attendance at the funeral on Thursday were Rev. Ira G. Briner and wife, of Chicago; George S. Briner, Esq, and daughter Mary, of Carlisle; Mrs. Sallie A. Miller and Mrs. Maggie Eby, of New Germantown; Mrs. Nora. E. Oren, of Juniata township; Mrs. Beer and son, of Mt. Union, Pa., Miss Bertie Rudisill, of York; Miss Rebecca Rudisill, Chas. Rudisill and wife, and Reuben Swartz and wife, of Gettysburg, Pa.'"
