He was born September 12, 1949, in Etna, a son of Orie and Marguerite (Whitley) Tibbetts. Doug was a well known, capable mechanic and was also a self employed used car salesman. He was a past member and former elder of the Emmanuel Bible Baptist Church in Plymouth and was a current member of the Palmyra Church. Doug was also a former selectman and constable for the Town of Plymouth. He also enjoyed collecting a variety of antiques. He was a hard worker enabling all of his children to be educated at a private Christian school. He will be sadly missed by his family and church family. He is survived by his 4 children, Loraine and husband, Kenneth Bubar, of Bangor, Cynthia and husband, Nathan Lane, of Glenburn, Timothy and wife, Heather Tibbetts, of Stetson, Rebecca and husband, Pasquale Addessi, of Levant; a special niece and adopted daughter, Elizabeth (Tibbetts) Morrow of Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren that he was so proud of: Andrew, Sydney, Devan, Dominick, David, Anthony, Joshua, Spencer and Daniel. He is also survived by 2 siblings, Edwin Tibbetts of Jay, and Alice Paduchak of Keene, NH; and his best friend and companion, Chris of Troy."
