He was born on March 23, 1936, in Orland, the son of Reynold and Thema (Gross) Soper. He graduated from Bucksport high school. Earl joined the naval reserves known as the Seabees. He worked at the Bucksport Paper Mill as an electrician for more than 40 years. He enjoyed many fishing and hunting trips in his beloved state of Maine. Earl was very proud of his family and enjoyed all the family gatherings. He is going on to join his wife of 50 plus years, Frances Soper. He is survived by his two sons, Earl Soper Jr. and Dennis Soper and wife, Arlyn of Orland; his two daughters, Bobbi and husband, Russel Lake, of Eddington, Louise and husband, David Lowell, of Searsport; His grandchildren: Earl's children, Blake and Noel, Dennis's children, Sheena, David, Joesph, and Dylan, Bobbi's children: Amber, and Amanda, and Louise's children, Eric, Arron, Ben, and Nicole; several great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Mary Soper and her daughters, Debbie Consalvo and Betty Robershaw. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, John Soper, Everette Soper; and sister, Janette Montgomery.
